The shield does not conatact the metal on the filter, it actually sits on the rubber mount, away from the functional area. I agree, the whole filter should be covered, indeed to incorporate the intake, this would, in my opinion, look crap. I do like aesthetics, perhaps even more than performance, this is a compromise. Anyhow, I'm going to add a clear perspex shroud to the alloy ring, this should allow more trapped air, and let you see what's under it.

Could not have said it too much better myself.
This is for LOOKS, NOT performance!
Give me performance every time!
It's just another piece of shiny metal under the hood.

What about if you put that Heat Screen cloth stuff, that DEI makes, over it - or any heat shield for that matter? Would that help even more for heat reduction???

"What did you think about that Dorothy girl?"
"The whole Judy Garland thing kinda turned me on. That doesn't make me some sort of fag does it?
"Nah baby, your money."

Please keep up posted on this. I am very interested! Originally posted by Gary_J_ST200: Originally posted by TheGreatOne: I like all the caps and strut tower thingies. Can you get those that say "ford" or maybe even blank? Very nice.
If you check the link in my sig, you'll see I run a company who make styling parts for 'Tours/Mondies etc. I'm prototyping SVT strut caps and engine cap covers this week.

Thanks for the replies, even Demon's I was thinking of glueing some polystyrene inside the bell, this should insulate it a bit. I also made a detachable extra length cover to keep the performance freaks happy I'll start a new thread on the caps, I done a prototype SVT one last night, will post a pic soon. Gary
