You're absolutely right - I just got my car back from the dealership (95 SE MTX) asking for the wiring harness recall and for them to investigate an intermittent A/C problem.
They asked for $1198 to replace the Compressor/Evaporator/Accumulator. And, when I picked up the car today, the A/C wasn't working at all - checked the pressure and it's dead empty.
After reading above, I checked the recall and it definately says to evacuate the A/C system as part of the process.
But this now makes me wonder - the electrical system is connected to the compressor to control the clutch. The dealer pronounced my 'problem' is the clutch wasn't consistently opening/closing to maintain proper pressure (no leaks that I knew of) - I wonder if my problem was the wiring harness and the A/C was damaged by the electrical system problem.
