Look man I defiantly see your side and Mazdaâ??s!! The car is a 1.3L no changing that. But, I just think when you advertise the car in comparison to other cars you should really have something in there about its breathing, just to relate it to other cars, thatâ??s all. Yes I can calculate displacement all day with you if you would like. Think about the S2000 when it came out, 240HP to 2 liters of engine making it a 120 hp to liter ratio. That was unheard of, and still is. I am just waiting for someone to say that this engine has a better power to displacement ratio. You just canâ??t compare the two. Look I see the way they do it I always have. I just think people making a big deal about this 1.3 Liter engine really need to understand how they got that. This isnâ??t some Prius engine we are talking about if it were it would be making like 80 Hp or soâ?¦..

I'm definitely in the minority here, as I absolutely hated the RX-8's design from day one. This doesn't make it look that much better, IMHO. It just screams tacky to me, though I've almost always liked cars with cleaner lines and a sense of proportion...
This wouldn't be the first car that's offended my sense of style.
Impressive engineering, though the styling just isn't my bag of tea...

Why not? It's an engine. It produces power. It has displacement. And the ratio of the two is quite good. It's irrelevant as to what kind of engine it is.

Spoken like someone who has no argument. Anyway, on the subject of the RX-8, Mazdaspeed now has the website up for it. Go to http://www.mazda.co.jp/mazdaspeed/ and it's listed as "RX-8 A-spec" under the 3rd tab from the left. It looks the same as the pictures above, but it's lost the front 'snow plow.' Peronsally I think it looks better without it.

If you want to know more about it read sport compact car May's edition.
Do you measure your cars displacement with just the displacement of one cylinder?? Well, thats what Mazda does on its Renesis's engine.
Don't go around telling people its a 1.3 because it is clearly not.
Thats the worst argument ive ever heard. You dont measure a contour engine by the displacement of one cylinder because it has 6 or 4 cylinders. Rotary has one 'cylinder' , so thats how you measured it.
Edit- Plus , whats the cubic inches on this engine? Why dont you just compare cubic inches between engines if everyone goes crazy over displacement?

How about the RX-8 engine in an RX-7 body with a turbocharger?

One turbocharger. Two intercoolers. All love.

The base price of the normal RX-8 is $25,180 and it goes to a little over $33,000 with all the options. So it's anyone's guess as to what the Mazdaspeed will cost . . .except that it will be more.
By the way, your sig kind of freaked me out when I first read it. I know that my name is also used for girls, but it was a little surprising to see it there!
