the switch you are talking about is called a valet switch.. its what you do to put the alarm in the off position so someone can drive your car like going up the ramp on a parking garage and not worrying about the alarm... when you pick your car up you switch it back to regular alarm so it will work correctly.... with your alarm/or the way you saw it works is Like: a low or no battery in the remote is like having no remote, such is the case when a thief is stealing the car, he does not have the remote so he just breaks the window and then reached under the dash and pushes a button and the alarm goes off????? dont think so..



Do think so. Its not the valet button that I'm talking about. I know what that is, and thanks for insulting my intelligence. It IS the emergency override button. It IS in my drivers footwell. It DOES allow you to turn off the alarm WHEN YOU HAVE A KEY. If a theif has the key, you would be kinda SOL anyways. Read your alarm manual if you have one, and you'll know about the button. I believe it was the upgraded factory alarm. As I said the button is supposed to be hidden. Mine is just in a pretty obvious place. If a theif knew where a LoJac system was he could just take it out and leave it in a dumpster....
