thanks for that link. im pretty sure that that is the problem. it isnt totally jammed which is why it only happens occasionally. i tried to search, but i guess i searched the wrong keywords. ill clean that out today and if it still happens ill reply again. sorry for the extra new topic.
ive also noticed that when it does actually start bonging(no weed pun intended) its not untill the door is almost all the way open. im always in a parking lot or garage, so there isnt always enough room to open it that far.
