No, reset only applicable for CEL (Check Engine Light) on situations. The temp that PCM turns on fan is preset.
The problem actually seems to stem from the fact that Ford used the same gauge calibration for 4 & 6 cyl engines, even tho' the 4 has a higher thermostat and therefore runs hotter. The v6 engine usually in the O/R range and the I4 in the A/L range.
