The Elantra GT is a 5-door, but they're troublesome (worse than average) too. A warranty doesn't mean much. The trouble is to take it in to get fixed.
The Protege is the clear winner in this class once price, driving, and reliability are factored.
You can pillage an enemy once, but a customer is an endless resource.
