Mitsubishi has had a lot of trouble making their stuff as reliable as the big three Japanese makes do.
Last I checked, the Eclipse has been one of the most unreliable Japanese models available... not to mention being a "sporty" coupe that can't handle nearly as well as other sport coupes, not to mention a certain family sedan we know of.
