Quick story: New bat springs and Sachs gas struts from B.A.T. did the bumpstops need to be cut before installation?

Long story: My cousin put my new suspension in and used the bumpstops that B.A.T. included (Cousin is mechanic). I went to Colony Tire to get the tires replaced and an alignment and they tell me I am riding on my bumpstops in the front. So... I call B.A.T. they say I should not need to cut them...they ask me to measure the distance from the center of the wheel to the wheel well. Front is 14 7/16 and the rear is 13.5 inches. He said that I should not have had to cut the bumpstops, my rear height seems fine but my front is out of specs. He said to check the alignment specs. I did and they are on par. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

I just did my suspension, and I cut my front bumpstops in half, but left the rear stock. Used ST200's and H&R's.

How did you know cutting them in half was the appropriate amount?

thanks for the feedback...

I just followed the directions in this guide. It was written by Stazi, who knows his stuff from what I've seen, so I just took his word for it.

I need to rehash this a bit for a little back ground on what has been going on with my car/cars click on this thread:
Info on new car...

For some reason the right rear is riding lower than the rear left. From the wheel well to the center of the tire the measurements are as follows:
rear right 12 7/8ths
rear left 13 1/8th

The guy who switched out the suspension for me cut the bumpstops at all 4 corners as much as 2/3s for the front. When I first thought it was just some tire rubbing the wheel well I asked my mechanic about it and he said the springs in the back are not stiff enough. I think that is a load of b.s. Any suggestions? or ideas.

I had the stereo turned down yesterday and noticed a rattling sound coming from the rear right when stress was put on the right rear. Strange... still haven't had a chance to talk with my mechanic. From the lack of replies I guess you guys are unsure what is up with it.

Okay, now I really need some help! My mechanic told me, without looking at the car yet, that my spring collapsed?!? That it is common for lowered cars. Uhh this sounds like a load of b.s. He said it has happened to him before on his eclipse. He said he can move a bolt on the strut and raise it up a bit??? Any help would be appreciated. I am supposed to take the car to him this afternoon. The more information I have the better. Thanks!

I'm not exactly sure what bolt you are referring to on the strut, can you be more specific?
