Filtertek manufacturers the latest sump filter for the CD4E transmission.
It is designed in such a way, so that if the filter/screen were to be blocked with large debris,
it would not impede the flow of oil from the sump to the transmission pump.
The previous sump filter did not have this ability and oil starvation was the cause of the transmission to fail,
after very long internvals of very high speed driving.
