get a completely rebuilt CD4E with all updated parts. Make sure you get the 95 solenoid or whatever it is roadrunner mentioned. I believe the newer can work, but fails quickly on a 95. Add the filtertek (i think?) inline filter and a tranny cooler, and use synthetic ATX fluid, it'll last a lifetime then. A shift kit and/or chip wouldn't hurt either. I realise this car isn't your show car, but it doesn't hurt to have it be nice and last as well.
