I went to a Valvoline quick change place, explained the problem and they showed me a nifty fix-it. It was called a molly-plug. Picture a molly bolt that you use in a wall (togglebolt). A rubber gasket is used for sealing as you screw it tight against the pan. They don't sell them seperately, but would charge you only a buck if you needed one with your oil change. I never saw anything like this before and it looks like it would work really well. They said that the rubber seal doesn't leak at all. It twists on with your hand and doesn't rely on the existing threads of your oil pan. laugh
