First of all I searched and couldn't find the info I was looking for.
Okay I am interested in getting the KKM Intake for my 98.5 CSVT and have a few questions...
How does it sound? HP gain? Where can I get one? How much $?
TIA, Amanda

"What did you think about that Dorothy girl?"
"The whole Judy Garland thing kinda turned me on. That doesn't make me some sort of fag does it?
"Nah baby, your money."

IMHO - The *best* flowing intake money can buy is... - properly sized 3 1/2" MAF adapter - Largest (non inverse cone) K&N filter you can fit - Heat shield Then for colder air (not true cold air...the cdw-27 MAF does not and will not ever like forced air, just will not work) you can run a dryer hose or something to supply cold air to the filter area where the stock fender snorkel would be (remove that too!). Build your own with a combination of an adapter and a filter...pipe is optional. No currently available "intake kits" will include the best of all worlds.
Building your own intake setup will also cost a signifigant amount less. MAF Adapter (3 1/2" some sites say 85/90mm actual is 88.9mm) - SP and BAT sell them for $39 Biggest non inverse cone K&N you can fit - Summitracing KNN-RU1785 (5" wide x 8 1/2" long..what I run) $37.39 If you buy what I suggest you spend $76.39.
And about the KKM...I started with a KKM and now only use the adapter!

I went this route before and ended up with an overoiled K&N filter that caused a lot of trouble for me. I know I can clean and re-oil, but that experience just ruined this option for me. Thanks for the input though.

Just a heads up too....the KKM filter is also cleanable and re-oilable....there is a good size of after market filters that are like that now.....I have the KKM and i switched to K&N and i couldn;t be happier....what i have leared is to just spray enough oil to change the color of the filter sliglty....if it drips, i have to start all over again.
Good Luck.

Any good filter is going to need cleaning and oiling....There are some filters that do not require oil but most are made of foam. Just do not over oil it and take your time when you clean the filter to let it FULLY dry. The KKM will come with an inverse cone S&B (eww) that also will require oil!
