I second the HD580s. I have a pair and love them. You should be able to find them online for around $199, maybe less. They use the same driver as the HD600s, which are on every mags best/chosen list. If that is a little pricey, go to HeadRoom . They have great information regarding all things headphones and their suggested usage. They also have pretty good prices on models ranging from about $10 to $1000. Hope this helps, Todd

I use Sennheiser EH-2270. I think I paid about $65 for them from Amazon.com.

The HD570 is a more affordable set (should find for ~100.00 that has reasonably good performance).

so i did a little research and i'm thinking of the sony mdr 7506,if i can get them for a decent price. i read nothing but rave reviews. i want them mainly for music playback and studio type monitoring/mixing/recording of techno/electronic/rap/rock. they can also be used for dj'ing (they can flip up) if i needed to (though this will be a very small part of their use). i think i might be able to find a pair for 50-75 on ebay. hopefully towards the lower #. any experience w/ these.
