Define Big Block. Its not like most people come across big-blocks all the time, much less in small cars.




429 Ford, 460 Ford, 454 Chevy, even "smaller" motors like the 390 Ford, 396 Chevy and 383 Mopar. Most of those engines are still very easy to find and build. If you really want something special, look for a 409 GM or 427 Ford, mabye even a "cammer" These engines dont turn insanely high RPM stock or modded (they dont have to) and will live FOREVER.

ETayrien- It is not easier for a turbo 4. An early 429 or 460 with a 4 barrel and a cam is worth almost 500 ft/lbs of torque and WELL over 350HP. Do a little work on the heads and go well beyond that. And will carry a Mustang or even a bigger car like a Galaxie pretty damn quick. Try that with a small 4 cylinder, turbo or not
