Is the squelling sound like a belt slipping?

My car has done it since day 1. It does into 2,3,and 4 haven't done many top end runs so not sure about 5 (never payed attention, just watched road and speedo at that point.) I've driven a at least one other and it does the same thing, not sure if common or normal but seems that way.

My 98 E0 SVT also does this.....
I have 58,000 on the ticker so my asumption was that it could possibly be the clutch. But then again we all know what we do when we "assume" things... hahaha

Any suggestions though??

Later,
Jason

Yes it is a belt slipping....the serpentine belt to be exact. All of our cars (atleast SVT's) do it!

why does the serpentine belt slip?? Is it just because of the dramatic change in engine RPM??

What could stop it?? Possibly Belt dressing?

Jason
