minus the wing and graphics, that civic isnt all that bad. The one thing i love about them is the fact that you can drop in a B18C (GS-R) engine with out a hiccup, plus DelSol tranny (close ratio's) and boom, u r running mid 14's... -I will defend Japaneese cars to the death Tim

The only del Sol transmission that will bolt up to the b18c1 motor is that of the b16a3 that came in the VTEC model. When you look at it, though, the gear ratios of that S4 transmission are almost too close unless you're building a drag car. The GSR tranny offers a better application for real-world driving. But I agree on the beauty of engine swaps.

same... they really f*$cked up the interior on the ws6 trans am. i never really liked the design...but the interior is just...crap. looks like my friends bonneville...seriously there is nothing special about the inside. the leather seats are nothing to brag about either...and the gague cluster screams "boring"

oooooh booooooy mid 14's with all that motor swapping and tranny swapping i'm sooooooo impressed, and its still a little ugly a$$ looking pos...my 10 year old stang ran faster than that bone stock....and now it runs 12's on all motor for a ton less than it would take to swap in your b-fricking whatever vtec crap....minus the wing and graphics that thing still looks like a fugly little pos civic....japanese cars suck(not all of them but at least hondas anyway)....flame suit on....

chris knows how i feel about imports, so i will keep my mouth shut....
everyone has a good point, but i think the bashing of the civic could have been done better if that hadnt compared it to the most poorly built muscle car of this age....

come on now man i expect better from a guy that has some great muscle cars in the family...lol
i don't really hate hondas that much, even though i don't really care for them,i just wanted to stir up some fun with this thread...lol
sorry but the fox stang has to be one of the best if not the best bang for the buck muscle cars around...the perfect car to build into a drag car,or just a car to spank on sorry hondas in...lol.....
the fox stang imo started the whole aftermarket explosion for all these cars..stang owners were some of the first peoplein the states to start modding their cars for performance....and then the aftermarket for the fox stang exploded, and there are thousands of parts available....
hell you can buy a nice used one for well under $5k...drop in a $2k crate motor, add gears and exhaust, and you'll have a nice 12 second daily driver...you can even get a supercharger for about $1500 dollars...its very possible to build a 9-10 second stang for about $10k....
and the foxbody stang is hardly the most poorly built musclecar of our time,i strongly disagree..i have owned 5 different fox stangs and all have been fun to drive, and very reliable cars...hell the 87 interior was light years ahead of the gm counterparts of that time...wanna talk about poorly built, compare a similiar year f-body to the mustang, and the quality of the stang is better in just about every way...so i don't see your point at all man....

NOPE, according to road and track (issue 12/91) it doesn't.. assuming ofcourse its a 5.0 no cobra...stock quarter mile in 15.2...same as a Integra type R. and if you want to talk about looks, i wouldnt make a Fox body your goto car. im glad your car will run 12s all motor...its prolly not hard w/ 3 times the displacment of an integra...but they have Civics running mid 10's (race prepped) all motor...and all that VTEC crap, Ford could only wish of that kind of technology in 91...the same year, by chance, that Honda introduced the NSX w/ Vtec, which it had been running in Indy cars before that. And of course you'll never see mustangs w/ graphics or exessive wings on them, or even ones w/ altezza lights, dont see those at all [ and there are never any ghey graphics on mustangs either
93 Mustang LX 5.0- 215 hp....43/hp liter Honda Prelude 2.2 - 215 hp....97.7 liter
Man, where did the japenesse go wrong?? I would hate any company too that can make the same horsepower from a motor 1/3 of the size. And they are going no where with technology...variable valve timing?? Who needs that.. Im fine with ONE camshaft buisness in the front, party in the back

Really.. the HP/Liter war in DOHC vs. Pushrod is just comparing apples to oranges. HP is directly related to TORQUE. (If I remember correctly HP = (Torque*RPM)/5252. )A pushrod (or 2Valve) motor will make more useable low end torque, simply because it maintains a higher air velocity at the lower RPMS.
And even if you want to play the HP/Liter game, look at the LS6 in the Z-06 Corvette 405hp/5.7 liters. That's 71hp/liter.. more specific output than a standard 2.5 Liter duratec, and with Torque to back it up!
Also, I'm pretty sure that a stock 5-spd, 5.0 Fox body will do significantly better than 15.2 in the 1/4.
Major Manufacturers use many different ways to make their power. GM tunes their pushrods, Ford likes Roots blowers, Dodge likes turbos and V-10s, Honda has VTEC.. the end result is still good HP.
Who cares how it's made?
