My sunroof doesn't open all the way. it opens about 2 inches then makes a clacking sound. off track maybe? anyone have this problem? expensive maybe?

It sounds like the plastic drive gear is worn. If you do a search, you will find that that is a common problem. There are temporary fixes, but in the end it will need to be replaced.

Mine died the same way. Would not open and then clacking sound. Had to buy a new motor. The cheap assed plastic drive gear melted in the hot summer sun. YOu will have to replace the motor because the plastic gears cannot be purchased alone. The motor is easy to swap out.

just so happens i have an extra sunroof motor.........my car got broken into via the sunroof and i had to replace everything involved with the sunroof.....so i do have an extra sunroof motor i would be willing to part with.........

Hey, Does anyone have an extra overhead console that isn't so brittle, that they are willing to part with? I am partial to prairie tan, but I'll take any color. (I guess either I don't know my own strength, or the console is made of REALLY CHEAP plastic)

I've got the overhead piece that has all the switches, lights, etc in it for $75 plus shipping. It is grey in color. Drop me a PM or email if you want it.
