hi all, I was looking for a car CD receiver with an input jack but most models don't have that feature unless they are high end. which are too expensive for me. and still require special adapters to work.

So I was wondering whether it would be possible to weld in an input line to the thing if I can access the board inside.. it should be doable right?

I mean I would love to have that input jack coming off anywehere from behind the unit where I could hook up my MP3 player and do without burning cds with mp3s and stuff.

How much are you looking to spend on a deck? There's decent stuff out there with an aux input for $150 (or less).

well, the problem is they all look flashy and plasticy which I can't stand. What's bad is that lower-end pioneer units which look good ( to me ) dont have AUX input while higher end flashy ones do.. and stil you would have to buy a special thing to use the AUx input they have.


I was interested in th DEH-2300 and still am.. sorry


If I can find anything similar I would go for it.

but not those flashy 640,000 colour grey plastic ones.

sorry , I dont mean to offend anyone here, but not my taste.

I mean if not for the terrible sound quality I would never think of replacing the stock unit.

I wish I could get units from BMW VW's to work in my car , save for finding them in the first place.

I know some people with different cars that have traced the connections and soldered onto something to get an AUX IN on their factory stereo but it seems like a real mess most times. how about somehting like

Alpine CDM-9801

OR you could look around any see if you can find something like DEH-4100 (what I have) and the the p-bus adapter for AUX IN.

Pioneer makes an adapter (CD-RB10) which adds an RCA input. It plugs into the changer port in the back. Should work with any Pioneer that has changer controls. I used to have one connected to my old DEH-P4000, worked great.

My Aiwa deck, which was like $109 at Sears has an AUX input.

I'd probably also opt for an Alpine CDM-9801 which can be had for $135 off of eBay and then $15 for the AUX Input adapter.

The Pioneer DEH-P2500 for $130 (plus another $20 or so for the adapter) looks pretty nice too.

alpine decks look very good in the contour, almost stock, and the lighting at night matches perfectly.

my brother's cheap AIWA has an input jack.

I have a rinky dink cheapo jenson that has one.. but I dont liek it becuase it doesnt play my dardevil cd nor can you see the face durign the dayor the face wait a min i hate it! lol it was a gift what can i say and it was better then my casseste deck
