2)98 and newer models don't have a hood liner
3)The hood liner traps heat
4)Unknown is whether 98 and newer models use the same wire insulation as previous models or not (it's easy to tell the difference but I can't easily get access to a 98 or newer model to see)

Both my '95 and '96 zetec have no hood liner. Is the insulation only on duratecs, or what
Perhaps not coincidentally wires seem fine on both.
