i know in the DC area the guy at the dealership said that they won't be in until the middle of june.i found that shocking but he works there and i don't. he's also under the impression that they aren't out yet anywhere, i tried to tell him about florida but he said that it was probably just a neon with the kit, yyeeeeeeeeeeeeeah ok.

all in all, it's fast, faster than my car, but it is still justa neon, they should have renamed it, or just called it the SRT-4 without the neon.

anyways, have fun, be careful and don't come to my area with it, i'm not ready to get beat by a neon

congrats.. the SRT is so fast I'd like to get one.

Make sure you lower it though.. it looks like a jeep when it's a stock height.

Have fun rolling up the rear windows. Seriously though, have fun with it, spank some mustangs, put civics to shame, but stay away from the contours! At least you got an American pocket rocket. =)

Well frankly the 1st generation Neon R/T would keep up to a V6 Contour (I know I had one) and could outhandle almost any other fwd car available. Add the ACR suspension option and it was an amazing car. Not as fast as the SRT-4 I suppose, but I still wish it was called a Neon SRT.

and too add to this....http://www.hrchahnracecraft.com/
see their "slow" neons they will beat the crap out of anyone of us in the quarter. I've seen one of their neons still in streetable form run mid 11's

Ray -- sad to see you go!

you'll have to come out to one last meet before you get the Neon.

I've considered the SRT-4 myself. As owner of an original '95 Neon Sport, it may not have had all the good straight line, but it was certainly a blast in the twisties. In a way, the Contour reminds me of it. It too is not much of a launcher, but will smack many MANY pony cars upside the head.

I'm personally aiming for a black one, and plan on removing the Speed Racer rear wing so I can be ultra sleeper!
