Mine made it to about 130k .Its not real bad to change. unless you break a bolt off in the housing. mad

43K -- 1/4-th each of two blades only remains of impellor. Mexico built, true 98 (before 98.5 de-contenting).

When I get the money, putting on one of Terry's electrics, so don't have to worry about this one "Quality is Job 1" snafu.

My informal CEG research indicates the average failure rate seems to be closer to 60K mi. I had planned to change mine before that but haven't gotten around to it yet (64K).

Phil! Change it! Actually we can do it when I'm in Ottawa sometime. Even the newer ones aren't failsafe. There's actually another part in the waterpump housing that fails almost as frequently as the impeller itself. I opened mine up one beautiful Feb day just to change the impeller as a precaution, and the piece of the housing came shooting out, requiring me to buy a new pump housing.
