something like 126 cases in TO I think.
Not to sure how many have passed because of it, but 6 total in Canada

Not sure if those 126 are just suspected cases or actual cases. There are a lot of people in self quarantine. Most of the people who have it are health care workers and family members of people who actually have it. They may suspect people have it to be on the safe side and not take any chances and have them go to quarantine. It is a serious illness but one that apparently has a low mortality rate of only 5%. I think the media is making it come across worse than it is. I agree it is serious and needs to be taken seriously but when you dont have all the facts before you it comes across worse. Not sure exactley what the US TV/Radio says about it but I am sure they havnt given all the facts of this illness.

at work were not allowed to go to any of the old age homes to fix their computers because they dont want us spreading it so we have to do everything remote and by phone.. what a pain in the ass

lol well the workers use them for the data base of old people.. theirs only 1 pwe home for the old people to use  each home has 20-40 computers for workers alone

A lady I work with, her grandfather died last night of SARS. She has been in quarantine for 2 weeks, voluntary. It's pretty scary.
My fiance works for York Region as an ECE, and the region has taken her whole office and are directing calls about SARS to them to answer questions.

does it target older people. what I mean is, if a younger person gets it, are they at as much risk as dying as an older person?
thats usually the case, but is it in this occurance?
