I'll give in that it's an improvement over the new 7-Series, but this is like saying that Janeane Garofalo is an improvement over Rosanne Barr in a beauty contest. It's TRUE, but...

Both leave the aestetic senses wanting more.

Dosn't do much for me. Especially after the last two generations of really good looking, yet understated 5-series cars . . .

I'm exactly the opposite. I think the new 7 series looks tons better than that. I'm sure it'll grow on me

I love the look of the new 7 series.

Somebody makes a living desisning this [censored]??? That thing looks rediculous! Is BMW's new goal to have no flow at all to thier designs? I could come up with a better design in 5 minutes! (And those of you who know me know I could) The side looks like a warped slab, much like the new Camry in a way, the headlights are a complex new shape, which hasn't yet been named, I'll call it tacky. Reminds me of the Monte Carlos horribly styled headlights. The ass just screams Toyota.

Look at Audi for a second here. Thier cars are getting more chisseled in thier styling, looking more and more like they were machined out of a solid block of alluminum. Look at Jaguar, thier old designs are being given new lives and look very elegant. Hell look at Mercedes, they've been evolving thier line's styling since... ever. Thier cars continuously impress me in person, always completely tasteful. Why can't BMW keep refining thier classic lines in that manner? Until they released the current 7 series, I held BMW in very high regards for styling. Always clean, always tasteful, and clearly a BMW. Now I have them ranked down with GM's Chevrolet division. I can honestly say I am not looking forward to what they do to the next 3 series.

There are indeed cases where a line is getting old and worn out, and is in need of a drastic change to survive. Ford did that with thier new edge style, and the Focus sold like 1/2 price porn. It spread to all thier cars and suddenly Ford's line looked completely fresh. BMWs didn't have that problem though. You could look at a BMW from 4 blocks away and know it was a bimmer. Instant respect for the car. Now you look, squint your eyes, wonder what the hell it is, then as you realise it's a BMW you think what the hell did they do that for? It's like Cadillac and their new edge CTS. It looks nothing like a Caddillac at all.

Oh yeah, I forgot, this is all my opinion, but you must agree I have a point here.

I like it upon 1st sight and I think it will grow on me. The last 5 series took a little while for me to warm up to mainly because of that stepped hood.

My opinion, but keep in mind that I also really like the Honda Element and Infiniti M45. Something about the squared-off, slab side look that I like. Don't like the CTS, though.

Priceless comment I completely agree with what you've said, and lets just hope they don't destroy the 3 series as it is one car I would seriously like to own in the near future.

I'm not sure about it either...but I don't think I'll have to worry about it too much, it's not like I can afford one or anything , so my opinion is really pointless...
