Forgot to mention in my original message, my 98.5 Mystique LS Sport 2.5 automatic has 74000km on it ,with the original pump .I really don't
know what to do, as there are some reports here about the waterpump with the metal impeller also failing but not because of the impeller.
Both the 5 speed and the automatic , with the 2.5 v6 are redlined at 6750 rpm , but the auto shifts (wot) at around 6250, I wonder if there are more waterpump failures with the 5 speed manual equipped cars, COMMENTS PLEASE. My dealer told me that my 98.5 had the white nylon impeller
and showed me one from the parts dept, they had it in stock for 9 months , no request for it from customers. I also wonder if the waterpump with the white impeller is any better than the original one with the black one, COMMENTS PLEASE.
