There have been many posts complaining about the water pumps failures on the 2.5 v6. I have checked with the 2 local Ford dealers in this area and they have replaced very few water pumps, and those that they did(upon checking their records with me ) the cars had well over 160,000 kms (100,000 miles). Also the after market parts people said they were'nt aware of any demand for their pumps.
One'75 Contour v6 that my friend owns from new has 325,000 kms on the same water pump.
I would like to hear from other 2.5 v6 owners that have high mileage water pumps.
