I am thinking of getting a dynabatt or a similar dry cell. My question is what CCA's are you guys running? The ones I've been able to find so far don't come close to the stock battery's 580 cold cranking amps.

Don't buy Dynabat... they rip you off. Dynabat batteries are RE-STICKERED batteries by Hawker! Those bastards put a .40 cent sticker over their battery and sell it for twice as much. Hawker goes for $70.

I have read that. I was leaning towards a Hawker Genesis or an Odyssey, both of which are comparable, if not identical batteries and less in price. I dont want an Optima because of the extra weight.

I wish!

It rated about 600 cranking amps or 450-500CCA (still more than enough for most climates)

However it has 1/3 the reserve time of a normal battery. (roughly 20-30 minutes)
This is it's only drawback for being so much smaller and lighter than a regular battery.

Has anyone had any problems with the dynabatt/hawker not starting? Especially in cold weather? My car isn't my daily driver, so I wouldnt be using it that much in the winter. The coldest weather it is driven in is high 30's to low 40's.
By the way, this is the battery I'm thinking about.

It was insanely cold in WI this winter and my Optima Yellow Top worked like a champ. I don't know the CCA tho.

I have had my Dynabatt for about a year. Just recently it has been giving me big troubles. I don't drive the car all that often, so when I went to start it the car had trouble starting. In the past week I have tried to start it every night, and every time I had to get it jumped just to crank. Looks like the 'Batt is going in the trash.

button pusher: how did you get your battery to fit? I have looked into getting a optima and they look like they will hit my hood.
