whats up, i have 99 se, i just wanted to put an intake in it. I read some threads and it looks like a CTA is a popular one. I don't plan on putting exhaust on my car so would an intake be a bad idea?

Its not a bad idea. You just would see better gains if you had a better flowing exhaust. More air in--more air out. Why dont you want a better exhaust? If its because of noise, just remove your resonator, its still pretty quiet.

Thanks for the reply. I don't want exhaust because of noise. How hard is it to remove the resonator? Would it be bad to get the intake and not exhaust to match it.

Its fine to have an intake and no exhaust mods. You will notice a difference from the intake by itself. Removing the resonator is an easy job. You just take your car to a muffler shop and tell them to put a piece of exhaust pipe in its place.

If you don't want noise get a SVT exhaust. Seriously.

OK thanks all! I am ordering the intake from CTA. Does anyone know if there is a discount for CEGr's? It says $139 on the website

Even if you don't have the answer, you certainly have to admire the problem.

If you get the intake, you will have an increase in noise. If you get a SVT exhaust, you will have a quiet exhaust unless you take the res off. Leaving the res on will keep the noise down significantly.
