This is how a true survivalist would approach this- take a crushable material (clay, plastigauge, any kinda putty), roll it into a rod, put that across your fingers and pick up a 20lb weight. Voila', you have a torque measurement. Repeat when grasping wrench. Yes, I'm nuts, but hey I'm not too cheap to buy a torque wrench either.
