I've had my '99 Contour's dash replaced once under warranty for the dash warping up at the windshield. Before I got the recall notice about the dash it had started to warp again.
When I took the car to the dealer, I was informed that the recall was only for the defroster vent and did not cover the warping near the windshield. It was inspected and determined that I only needed some sort of kit instead of an entire dash.
The kit was ordered, but I never had it put on due to the difficulty of getting an appointment with my dealer. Nonetheless, the dash has warped so bad now that it touches the windshield and makes noise over bumps and shifting gears. Sorry piece of $hit dash!
Also, my defroster vent pops up often and it has to be pushed back into the dash. Ford, Quality Is Job One?? Who are they kidding?
