Just had a Pioneer aftermarket unit with CD changer installed in my 98 SVT. Sounds much better than the POS Ford unit.

Wondering if anyone could recommend an ungraded speaker setup? Not interested in adding speakers, just replacing the stock with better speakers that wouldn't require any mods, i.e. easy install.

I'm not an audiophile, so I don't know much about this stuff......appreciate any input.

Thanks in advance

I put Pioneer 6x8's in the doors, check my sig for the model. I have the two-ways; there's also a three-way, but I don't know if that changes the size and whether you'd run into problems. Crutchfield seemed to think so, but then again Crutchfield was wrong about my two-ways in the rear doors, too.

My Pioneers pretty much bolted right in with no problems and were a huge improvement in sound over stock.

Get JL Audio 5x7's. They are a little more on the expensive side, but I love them. I've tried Pioneer, then Kenwood, now JL's.

Justin are the JL audio 5x7 really worth the price? Do the tweeters detach and is there really lots of midbass offered and does the crossover allow a biamped configuration?

I also have the Pioneer 2 way 6x8s in the doors. They sound good and you can get them for a good price. Of course anything would sound better than the POS factory speakers. However they're not to good if you want bass. And I'm not talking about the bass you can hear from a mile away. If you run them off the head unit the bass doesn't sound that clean. An extra amp may solve that problem. Before I got my subs I was running them off my amp and they sounded really good.

I went cheap and got Jensen 6x8's and run 'em off the head..great mids and highs and with 3 subs, no need for bass
