Well, work has been so busy lately, they got me coming in around the clock supporting this damn system.
Its my turn tonight to work the third shift....sortof.

I came in tonight at 4:30pm. I will be here until 6 or 7am.
Its kinda spooky here in this building. Very quiet.
Lights shut off at 9pm. I have my office lights on and every fifth ceiling light is on. Its weird.

Anyway - It's 12:25am. I'm bored...but yet so busy (All of my programs are running right now, nothing I can do right now but wait). So far, I like it.

I have tomorrow off and have to do it again on wednesday and they are giving me thursday off too. lol.
not a bad deal if you ask me.

anyway - for you night owls. HELLO!!!!

The night shift is the best. I've been doing it for almost 4 years. Its tough when everyone else you know works in the day, but the lack of supervision at night is a major plus.

Why don't you go streak around the place to pass some time.

because in a building of this size, and new technology and high security....i wouldn't want the security guards downstairs all focused in on one camera....lol!

its still spooky here.
I can here printers going off when noone is in the building.
I called Security and he said that its me, him and 1 janitor in this ENTIRE building right now. Noone else is signed in and there are no cars in teh parking lots.

Anyway - Lisa just called me - she works nights as a nurse. She wants me to work till 7am so that I can go for breakfast with her.

No kidding!

I know what you mean about places being spooky night though. I was working overtime one night, and it was about 2AM. Our buildings alarm system is set up with two seperate zones. Well, one side was armed, and the side I was working in wasn't. I'm sure you know where this is going. Here I was working away at my computer when the alarm goes off. This is one loud alarm too! I definately jumped out of my seat!!!

I turned off the alarm and went to investigate. Never did find anything. Now that was a little freaky. I didn't have any "security" office to call either

I had that happen to me a couple times when I was at my other company.
I worked some late nights during tax season.
My desk wasn't too far from the admin area - they had their own set of equipment including individual laser printers on some of their desks.
I was sitting quietly for a good amount of time and then I heard the printer on the other side of the cubicle wall start spooling. It freaked me out in that instant, until I looked around the corner to find out what was going on.
Turns out, it occasionally would do that when not in use but was left on. I think it was just temporarily warming up and then going back to powersave mode.
