So I was a dumbass on Friday and got a ticket in Cudahy for 15 over. Does anyone from this area know what my chances are for plea-bargaining and getting the points reduced? I still have a probationary license, so the points will double on this ticket (4) and that will put me at 12 if I don't get it reduced.
I know county court will pretty much automatically give you faulty spedometer at 2 points, but do suburbian municipal courts do the same usually?

Probationary?! How old are you mang? Anyways, pleading no contest should get the points reduced or eliminated but you'll still have to pay the fine.

Heh. I'm 26. Never needed my license until a couple years ago. I could care less about the fine, since I've been told that ~$75 for a 15 over ticket is really low around here. Hell, I'd pay more if it meant that the points would be dropped.
Is there any advantage to getting a lawyer for this stage? I don't plan on actually fighting the ticket, so I'm guessing not. It's going to suck having to miss work/school on my court date to go in and plead no contest, but if I have to I will.

I've heard about that site. Most people say it is pretty good stuff, but it seems to be info that's most useful if you're going to trial. If I'm not offered a plea bargain then I'm probably just going to plead guilty and lick my wounds. Their site also says its a bad idea to plead no contest. I don't know how it works where they're from, but in Milwaukee County court I know for a fact that they'll offer a bargain if you plead no contest to a lesser charge. I'm just not sure about the smaller municipal courts, like the one I'm faced with.

That is cheap! I just payed $164 for my ticket. I was nailed by a trooper on 90/94 doing 80 in a 65. Cost me 4 points also.
In the past I have plead no contest and had the ticket reduced to 10 over and gained a point back. I still had to pay the full amount for the fine. That was a county court also.

Welp, thanks for the advice. It looks like I'm taking the day off of work to head down to court and put in my plea. If it works, everything's cool and I'll just have to lay off the accelerator for a long while. If not, its back to bumming rides off of friends/co-workers for a couple months this summer. Wish me luck!

hetfield, did you get my file attachment? Did you read it? It works, no fine, no points, and empowerment to fight another one and no fear of the cop/tax man. Just try it, the most you can get is the original fine, the least is being scott free.
