IAC is a half hour job at most and the part goes for ~$40. it's not a difficult repair. ford will charge ~$150 to do it.
do it yourself. all you need is a 8mm socket (IIRC), and a flathead screwdriver to remove the IAC sampling tube. There are to bolts that hold the IAC on to the manifold. Get a new fresh gasket too (like $1). super easy to do.
