do it yourself. all you need is a 8mm socket (IIRC), and a flathead screwdriver to remove the IAC sampling tube. There are to bolts that hold the IAC on to the manifold. Get a new fresh gasket too (like $1). super easy to do.

OH GOOD!!!
Im soo relieved...!
Ford told me 195 for the job!!! thats an outrageous price!! Where could I buy a new IAC at???? I tried AutoZone, they said they do not carry it and cannot order it.....
Also is there a HOW-TO that anyone has written up anywhere??? I can't seem to find one?

Thank You all so much!!
Jason

P.S. Is it possible to clean the IAC? Could it be just sticking??

it's definitely sticking, that's the problem. they are not lubricated whatsoever so they are prone to failure. you can spray some wd-40 or the similar in on it and that will help out for a bit i'm sure. i've gotta order an iac valve (among other things) myself...waiting for bill jenkins to get settled into his new home. in the meantime, you could get it from www.fordpartsonline.com or www.lonestarparts.com either one would have it.
