Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0133 and P0153 indicates the response rate of the upstream HO2S is below some calibrated window.
Possible causes...
-- Contaminated HO2S.
-- Exhaust leaks.
-- Shorted/open wires.
-- Improper fueling.
-- MAF sensor.
-- Deteriorating HO2S.
-- Air leaks.
I would say that your "upstream" (before precat) 02 sensor is shot or on its way out. You might be able to clean it, but I would go ahead and change it.
As for why this as happened...
Investigate the following items as potential sources of HO2S contamination:
-- Use of unapproved silicon sealers.
-- Fuel contaminated by silicon additives.
-- Excessive oil burning (i.e. rings, valve seals and oil overfill).
-- Glycol (antifreeze) leaking internally in the engine.
-- Lead contaminated fuel.
-- Use of unapproved cleaning agents.
If none of this is the case, then check for vaccum leaks, exhaust leaks (pretty obvious if you had that!) and check the hose that connects the PCV valve to the throttle body for vaccum leaks as well. All this aside though, I would still bet that it is just one of your upstream 02 sensors. I am not sure which one it would be. I think it is bank 1, but I am not sure. I will let someone else handle that part.
Hope this helps. (I love this dang CD!!!)
