Thanks man, your help is very much appreciated. I made post again if I run into problems. Seems like a good time to change the plugs and wires too! The engine has 70k miles and the only thing I've had to do was change the water pump; I only did that as a precautionary measure.
Looking on the NAPA and Parts America web sites and it looks like after 1/2/99 Ford changed something with the O2 sensors. With my luck, they probably made it simpler
