It is probably a dirty switch. Pull it out and have a look. The switch is located in one of the major water drain paths so it is subject to corrosion on the contacts. I have had good luck by cleaning the contacts with a small toothbrush sized wire brush and then slathering it with dielectric grease before reinstalling it.
