OP mrsvt99 Newbie M Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 3	When I go down a hill with my cruise control on it feels like the car is jerking back and forth. Anyone know what could be causing this?

OP mrsvt99 Newbie M Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 3	Sorry. It is a 99 SVT with 80,000 miles on it. It pretty much only does it when the cruise is on.

Could it be that your cruise is kicking in and out because of speed? Are you right at the set point of the cruise? Say you have your cruise set for 60mph. When you start going down the hill your car speeds up to 63mph. The cruise backs off of the gas and you slow down, say to 58mph. Your cruise then kicks in again and speeds you back up, past 60mph and then slows down. Could that be the problem, or am I totally off base? My old 98 Tour would do that. It was a 2.0 ATX though. *Mike* 1999 Tropic Green SE Sport Duratec MTX No major mods, just the aesthetic kind.

OP mrsvt99 Newbie M Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 3	No it stays at the same speed. It just barely does it, but you can feel it if you pay attention. It does it at any speed, whether your on the interstate or not, so I don't know what it could be.

That's pretty normal in these cars, there is not a smooth throttle tip-in. It's more noticeable in the SVT than on the regular Dtec. It happened only on steep downgrades in the mountains, was really minor, and smoothed-out after the four or five seconds it took for the onboard computers to get their strategies in-synch. Don't worry. Be happy ... That you have a CSVT.
