Ok, after doing a lot of searching on the internet, I have found two companies local to where I am that make carbon fibre auto parts already.

What I need to know before talking to them is how would we want the cover made?

Would we want something inlaid in the fibre?
- A Ford logo?
- A Duratec logo?
- A CEG logo maybe?
- Or just a plain one(like the Cougar Eliminator)?

I will talk to them about the possibilities of using different colored fibre.

BTW, this will be for the V6 cars, because that's what I have and I don't know if the Zetec guys have an engine cover.

I will talk to them as soon as I get enough responses on this thing telling me what CEG wants.

Mike

Straight CF for me. Keep it clean. About the same size weave as the hoods would be nice too. My .02

is this just a weenie valve cover like the stock one or is it a true engine cover? (i'm interested in something that covers most of the ugly crap in the engine bay, not just the valve cover)

I agree with SpeedDemon.

However, I already see a problem; the SVT guys already have a nice looking UIM, which they prolly won't want to cover it. The SE/GL gang or anyone without the SVT UIM would be more likely to want a complete cover. Now, I am speaking for just about everyone, so it's very possible that I'm wrong, but this is just my $5. Should there be two seperate parts? One for the entire engine and one just to replace the front cover? I mean the cover that says "24v DOHC Duratec....".

no, i mean something like this

or this
http://store3.yimg.com/I/corvetteforum_1726_15040408

or this
http://store6.yimg.com/I/machvw_1733_19625348

i'm a big fan of the last one

CF would be neat but not really nessicary i guess, i'd kinda like to paint my red or black and paying up the yin yang for cf when a painted finish will, imho, last longer seems dumb i guess. *shrug*

Wouldn't a complete engine cover retain heat??

I'd settle for a ford logo on it, or leave it plain. Definitley interested though.
