Tonight when I got home, I hit the switch to close the tilted sunroof. Heard a funny noise from the switch area...and nothing. Won't close or slide. Fuse? Motor? Help.

I've got a similar problem; out of curiosity, was it hot (weather-wise) when you had this happen? I've heard that it might have something to do with a plastic gear which meshes with a metal gear that closes the roof. When it gets hot, the gear gets soft and won't turn, or something like that.

When the temp outside cools down, it closes no problem.

Good luck; the s**t thing about my situation was that when I took it to the dealer, they couldn't duplicate the problem until my 3rd pass to them. They had to take the whole console apart to get to the gear and there isn't a metal gear that can be replaced for it, unfortunately.

I had this happen once.....I shut the car off while I was closing the moonroof...........when I turned the ignition back on....it would not close. I turned off the ignition, then started the car.........then shut it off completely. When I turned the ignition back on....the moonroof closed.

I hope this helps.............

Thanks guys. It closed this morning. i haven't tried to open it again with t-storms in the forecast.

I don't even really like using the sunroof much anyway. Its humid here in North Carolina.
