Anybody else have problems with the little plastic clips on these things snapping off?

Two of mine have just two of their four little clips left, and I assume that one day soon, I'll hit a bump and they'll just fly off.

Since I change wheels and tires twice a year, (snow, eh?) mine might be getting more wear than some others, and so more likely to be damaged.

Has anyone ever found a more secure, but still reversible way to hold these little boogers in place?

I busted the two rear tabs on one of them waaaay back in 1997 when I was doing my first tire rotation. Still on there. I actually wish it would fall off so I would have a reason to buy a new one.

I did lose one a few years ago and it was pretty cheap to replace. Came in body color and cost no more than $10 - $15. I was expecting a lot more.

Where is the correct jacking points for a floor jack? And when using jack stands, are we supposed to use the 4 jacking points on the sides of the car?

I take a chunk of 2x4 and put it on that rolled down lip at the edge of the body, just behind the skirt, then lift the whole side of the car with my floor jack. The inserts never come out.

i think i did this to my car changing brakes last summer...im just waiting for an answer on another post to see if it really is ....i slightly bent mine and at first the car seemed to feel awful but after my initial nervousness i didnt seem to notice any difference in handling....

it is good to know however that i am as competent as a ford repair man laugh  frown
