This might have already been mentioned but while at Toys-R-Us this past weekend with the wife I saw Huffy has come out with a new and improved Green Machine! This time it's got a metal tube frame and a rubber front wheel. I remember wearing my plastic front wheel clean thru on my original. I think T-R-U was asking $100. I tried to convince the wife that our 17 month old need this rather than a Little Tikes foot powered truck we came to look at - didn't work though... One of the sales reps said they ride the display model around at night, including their 6'-4" manager - although the box says 180# max.

180 lbs??? My 60-lb fourth-grade body was too big for that thing (the original one); I ended up cracking the front wheel straight down the middle. Nice to see they have come up with a new one; hope it's safer.

What's the deal with the handlebars though??

I had both. I loved running around on them. Brings back a lot of memories...
I was always doing front wheel "burnouts" that sooner or later wore out the wheel. Back to the store for a new one

I had a big wheel and a green machine. Too bad they don't make them anymore. Remember the wheels grinding away? Remember them fading to nothing as the summer wore on?
Oh the good old sharp edged days!
