SVTCuervo, I want to get a test pipe made before I get my y-pipe so I don't have to use the cat at all. Do you know any of the specs, such as length of the cat piece from flange to flange? 2 or 3 bolt flanges? What the pipe diameter is? I called Alessandro to ask, but he wasn't around. If you can help at all I would appreciate it. Thanks

Well you know you can have Brullen make you one and ship it with the pipe. I wouldn't make one without the pipe in place, because you never know the exact measurments. I'll talk to him and see if he'll give me some info, but you best bet is having Brullen make you one. I'll get you a price. Thanks

I would not mind getting in on this while i can i guess, is this legal in CA? it comes with a cat by the picture... just checking again. Also, is it that hard to install by yourself because i have heard that our shops in CA will not mess with it...thanx.

Yes you can still get in on this and yes it comes with a High Flow cat standard. But you can upgrade to an Xtreme flow cat for $88 more. Its completely emission legal and is so easy to install. All parts of the Y-pipe are easilly accessable under the car and in plain view. Just unbolt the stock and bolt on the Brullen. Thanks

sorry to ask questions late, but i just searched every page of this post and i do not see any gains listed over stock. i mean i don't see any posts saying basically how much it will gain over stock. i have heard like 10 hp for the sho pipe but is there any solid numbers available for this one? also, the xtreme flow cat...how much more will that produce, a.k.a is it worth the xtra 88 bux. i saw info posted for it previously but all i got was x's. thanx for the quick response before, i just got a wild hair up my ass to buy this and throw it on my credit card so i'll probably be in after more info. thanx.

This pipe shows considerable gains over the SHO style pipes. The equal Length is what alows teh exhaust gas to scavenge better by mixing instead of being forced into each other like the SHO pipe. The equal length also eliminates the drone the stock Y-pipe created. As far as back to back dyno from stock to Brullen, there haven't been any, but there have been consederable gains over the SHO pipes. Thanks

Dirrectly from the Perfromance Fords Web site: Originally posted by Performance Fords: Unfortunately at the time of our prototyping, our project SVT already had a modified y-pipe before testing of our new equal length downpipe was conducted. The modified downpipe had exhibited gains on the bottom end when we first dyno'ed that configuration. The dyno chart shown here shows that our equal length downpipe had additional gains of 4-7 ft-lbs of torque and 2-4 HP along the rev range up to 6000rpm. While we were not able to compare our new equal length downpipe to a stock down pipe, performance gains have been clearly identified.
