I want the one with the normal hi-flo Cat. I dont need the extra $88 one. Is shipping included in the $285? Also, does this include the flanged 'test pipe'? I'm probably going to want that.

That statement couldn't be more wrong. The 01-02 cougar has a 3-bolt CAT flange, which is inconsequential since this ypipe replaces the cat. It has the exact same 2-bolt catback exhaust flange as all the other cdw27s have.

The 99-02 cougar ypipes are identical (the 3-bolt ones anyways), with the exception that on the 01-02 y, the only o2 sensor it has is after the cat.

a polite 'neil is mistaken' would have sufficed.

If the CAT flange is 3 bolt, wouldnt the mating flange on the exhaust side have to have 3 bolts too? Therefore if you got a '99 style Y-pipe and installed it on your 02 wouldnt there be a mismatch?

No. The ypipe, bolts to the cat, which bolts to the exhaust. The Ypipe-to-cat flange is 3 bolt, the cat-to-exhaust flange is 2 bolt.

If you took a complete 99 ypipe assy (y and cat), even a 2-bolt and put it onto my 2001 cougar for example, it would technically fit fine, but since I dont have any upstream o2 sensors on my 2001s ypipe i would need to plug the one thats in the 99 y, and drill a hole and add a bung for a sensor after the cat.

Hehe, thanks for the quote.. But I do hope brullen will make a ypipe that will go onto the 01-02's without any o2 bung modification necessary.

I AM interested, but i wont have the money for this GB, so keep me off the list.. I'll have to pay full price once the money comes my way.

Do you know what full price on these is?

If it will fit my 96 with Borla exhaust, I'll buy one.
