java that is not really an answer, since they do tell you to change auto trans fluid. There must be some reason why there is this difference in recomendations. I am not trying to dispute whether or not this is a good idea, just wondering why mfr would not say to change it when they do say to chage atx. Does mtx not get as hot as atx can or???
I had two chrysler mtx's they had same recommendation...no need to change fluid. I did not and never had trans problems...other things led to demise of the vehicles at about 120K mi.
In the case of automatics, another consideration is if fluid has never been changed on high mileage car it is better not to change (or so I hear). Would this be the case for mtx also?
