So, I have my 96 SE, and it hurts to drive. I'm not that big, but Ford seemed to envision Twiggy-types driving this thing. Can anyone think of an easy and inexpensive way to fix this so my back (and sides) dot feel like they're in a vice?

Feeling the pinch,
D.

The 95/96 SE had large side bosters on the seat if you are having trouble with them maybe you could trade with some skinny guy with a later model seats that would like the early seats better ?

Seats don't differ by engine type, only by model year.

I'm 5'10" and under 200 lbs and I running Sparco Torinos and am very comfortable in them, because of their large bolstering. I'm not sure how you're sitting (is thtre more than one way???) or what makes you uncomfortable, but I think you'd miss the extra support from the pre-98 Tour seats, especially when cornering.

There are ways to sit differently. My preference is to sit with my back aligned between left bolster and seat back in the Probe. I did the same in the Contour (which doesn't have the bolsters). I noticed that it is more comfortable to sit straight, but whenever I hit twisties I slide all over the place putting me back into the left-bolster-seatback position.

I'm 5'10" 115lbs and I've had no trouble with the seats in my 00 SE! Are the seats in the older cars smaller/tighter? I wouldn't mind that at all, my seats are almost too big for me.

Holy cow! 115??? I think I weighed that in grammar school. I'm now 5'10 1/2", 210 lbs and have no trouble with the SVT leather seats. In fact, a little MORE side bolstering would have been nice.

Well, I'm 5'6" and about 155. To me the SVT seats are a little too big. I have to brace my foot when I go around corners to keep from sliding around.
