Does ayone know the size of the hidden hole? I measured it a long time ago, but cant remember if it was a 4" circle or a 5.25 circle.

Thanks! And also, does anyone know why they made the cut out and NEVER bothered to use it, as well as why they only have ONE cutout? Thanks!

I believe it is 6.5" in diameter.

I tihnk I measured it at 6.5", so a 7.5-8" speaker should drop in from the top in theory. I bottom mounted an 8" to an adapter board, then to the rear deck. It was used in some European models, I believe.

I once saw one of the enclosures bolted to the bottom of the deck up for sale on eBay. I believe it housed a single speaker around 6" in diameter. It was part of the "premium" sound system on Mondeo's.

Factory subwoofer.

I've used a single 8" sub in that location as well as a pair of 8" subs. The results were pretty good, especially considering zero loss of trunk space.

Come to think... I've still got my pair of Audiobahn 8s mounted on their baffle if anybody wants them. Just a bit of cutting and mount them in place.

I have a 6.5 inch midbass driver mounted in a sealed 6X9 inch wedge speaker box enclosure where the driver fires thru that rear deck hole. ( well currently it is out of the car as I xyz). Give me all of the bass banging head aches I desire.

I have a 8" sub in a sealed box mounted from the bottom. I just enlarged the hole to 8" and removed a 8" circle of the insulation from the rear deck carpet so that it can breathe perfectly and you cant see the sub.
