Low end TQ is over rated. Mid to high end is where it's at for these cars. More TQ down low just makes more tire smoke and wouldn't get the car going any quicker...
Dont do it! I just put my secondaries back in. Unless you plan on racing your car, its not worth it. Drivabilty is awful. There is absolutley nothing under 3K rpm's. You will get a few horsepower up top, but IMO its not worth it for daily driving. Not to mention the rough idling and running when the car is cold.
Nice numbers. I was expecting a bit more in the HP department, but as you say it is detuned a bit from maximum for safety. Enjoy it...and welcome to the FI club
Did they make a run for maximum power? If so what hp did that produce?

I know Bnoon is full of it I am not nor will ever remove my secondaires. In fact I'm not touching it any more.
Close to 300FWHP before de-tune. I had 93 in the tank and we tuned for as if I had 91.
I offer PnP Heads for all durtec's details at PnPheads.com or jesse@pnpheads.com for details.

Then you're just doing it wrong. You have to tune the low end if your secondaries are gone. My dyno is smoother without the secondaries and can out torque the traction of 235/40/17's in first and second gear without man-handling the clutch. Nope, no torque here...

I don't know what the deal was, but when I had my secondairies pinned I would break the tires loose as soon as I hit 4k on dry pavement in first. It doesn't do that now with them working again. Does the power come on that quick with the Vortech or am I loosing power now? Oh and that was with two other people in the car.

Wow what a let down IMO! Hopefully the peak numbers don't tell the whole story. I'm anxiously waiting the dyno graphs. (edit - saw them ) I've seen SC 2.5L's make more HP and almost as much TQ. (Po-Jay just made 271/204 & BStoneMega 274/204 both with very little other mods) The 2.5L turbo'd cars crush it's overall power output. You won't be pulling low 13's either IMO. My guess is 13.7 @ 103 Provided you can hook up of course. (edit) Sorry to be such a downer. The car would still walk mine like it was parked. I guess I was just expecting a lot more considering the other FI'd cars out there.

It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.

Demon,
I think his heads are still holding him back in comparison to the SVT heads since his aren't polished or honed in any way shape or form. We know there is a lot of power to be had there. Soon enough we'll see what a fully done up 3L S/C can do. BTW, I'll be in KC for the dyno tune on May 10, you going to come see it?

I'm with Demon. Making X horsepower at WOT at redline is one thing, but making good power across the entire RPM band is what we ideally want. I'm sure the 3.0L S/C has plenty of low-end power.
