Today I was at a local autox event and 2 of my old buddies who work for Procharger come out. They find out I had to remove my Vortech due to the issues I experienced in the past. They immediately said it was because of that shaft across the motor right? Uhhh YEAH!! They then said I bet it was blowing seals. Damn they were right on. Anyways, they looked at my engine and took pics and taking it to Procharger to discuss it with others of making a kit. They do have a universal blower coming out but they were trying to find a place to put it. How they said they would run this is, if you don't mind taking out the air conditioner and it's accessories then you could put it on the passenger side of the car and run it right off the pulleys instead of having that shaft. Then the piping would run down into the intercooler where the condensor was. Then run the other tubing coming off the intercooler out driver side to the throttle body. They said they are going to talk about it but they will need a donor car. Outlawd said he would be happy to let them have his CSVT. I am going to call him in a couple of weeks to see what could happen. So we may have another kit out for the car. Procahrger units are sweet because they are self contained. Keeping finger crossed.

I don't use my A/C anyways...and if it will allow me to keep my MSDS header and it is a reasonable price I will definitely consider this

Is it at all possible for the A/C unit to be relocated as opposed to removed? That would be a hard sell to anyone out here. I cannot imagine driving in 120F without the A/C. That would be brutal.

No big deal to make returnless work, just proved that on my Sc 3L
I offer PnP Heads for all durtec's details at PnPheads.com or jesse@pnpheads.com for details.

It would suck to get rid of that a/c on those 100*+ days. But you have to make that sacrifice I guess for our cars to have a supercharger that will have about 90% less problems just by getting rid of that shaft idea Vortech has. I really hated it, but I am no engineer and can't make something work. So I just was lazy and left it for the big guys to think about. With the intercooler the supercharger would not only gain a little in hp but torque would go through the roof compared to Vortech's. That turbo looks like a great kit and comes with a lot of goodies. But I was told the Procharger would cost about $4,000 for the whole unit. So that would be saving some money as opposed to the turbo.
Remember this is a thought, but hey it has to start somewhere. I am going to call him this weekend to see about a donor car.

Sounds promising. But makes me think. Is the Street Flight turbo pulling the AC or no? Never thought to ask. I'd hope No cause that will kill me getting it. Have to have the AC due to allergies. Ray

No. It does not require a location that has access to the FEAD system.
The reason this type of S/C setup would require removal of the A/C system is because it would be occupying that location. Thus completely eliminating the jackshaft & all it's flaws (parasitic drag, flexing, etc)
Then they could run the piping through one of their 2-core intercoolers and around to the intake side.
The biggest obstacle IMO would be routing the intake to the S/C unit itself since everything is setup on the driver's side.
