Hey all -

I heard some rattling coming from underneath my 'tour the other night and upon taking a look, I found there's a thin piece of sheet metal that kinda wraps around the exhaust pipe that has broken loose fron one of its mounts. I'm not sure what its there for - the only thing I can figure is that it may deflect heat from the exhaust from the floor of the car. It is located on the driver's side near the rear jack location.

Does anyone know what its really there for? The bolts used to hold it on are rusted almost beyond salvage, so I'm not sure how to reattach the sheet metal so that it doesn't rattle anymore. Any suggestions?

Thanks all!
Bryan
